Accommodation.

Ø Dormitory
Our dormitory provides students with over 3,700 beds. These places have quite and beautiful environment, comfortable and safe. Our dorms ask the students to manage themselves, and they can get in the dorm with their own cards; besides, we also have 24 hours security service. There are cafeterias and student canteen in both males and females’ dormitories, enable our students to have meals and buy what they need in the dorms. We also have cable televisions, community rooms, rooms for table tennis, studying, and discussions, and the vender machines, bath, drinking fountains as well. There are charged washing machines and tumble dryers on every floor of the dorms, and air conditioners on nearly every store, to make sure that our students can living and learning in a comfortable environment, that we can change our students into qualified people of all aspects with the warm and harmonious living environment.
Ø There are coin-operated washing machines, dryers, and public phones on floors. There is a public common room, astudy room, 
an art room, and a table tennis room on the first floor of dormitory, for sake of leisure exercises for students. Other facilities include restaurants and a bookstore.

 
Ø Our school is in Pingtung City, near the railway station (the distance from the station to our school is about 3 kilometers). Transportation is highly convenient. There are regular and frequent bus services between the school and the bus station (Scooters and bicycles are commonly preferable for students at NPTU).
 
Ø National Pingtung University Student Dormitory Regulations
  • Please give the password of the door combination lock to the Service Center attendant on the first floor for any repair and maintenance issues. 
School authorities can destroy the combination lock if the password isn't given to the attendant at the front desk on the first floor.
  • The dormitory public address (PA) system will only broadcast announcements from 12:00 to 12:30 and 19:00 to 20:00, although it can be used anytime in the event of an emergency.

Rules for using the dormitory bathroom:

Ø Hot water is available from 17:30 to 24:00. Please turn off the water faucets and lights after use to conserve energy.

Ø Please follow the instructions on the washing machines and dryers. Do not move the washers or dryers.

Ø Please maintain sanitary habits and have good manners when using the bathroom. Make sure the bathrooms are clean after use.

All students living in the dorm must obey the following rules; whoever violates any of these rules will be subject to penalties stipulated by NPTU regulations.

Ø Visiting hours: Weekdays 09:00~ 12:00 and 14:00~17:00; The dorms are not open to visitors on weekends and national holidays. Visitors must go to the Service Center on the first floor and leave their ID card there when registering. Visitors are prohibited from entering individual dorm rooms and are only permitted to use the lounge.
 
Ø Keeping pets of any kind, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, mice, snakes, etc., inside dorm rooms is strictly prohibited.
 
Ø Please take good care of the public facilities and lounge. Visitors caught vandalizing or damaging any public facilities will be required to pay for any necessary repairs.
 
The following behaviors are not allowed in the dorm rooms:
  1. Storing personal items in public areas of the dormitory (i.e., areas outside of the student dorm rooms).
  2. Drying clothes in areas not designated for clothes drying.
  3. Painting or carving the walls.
  4. Smoking, drinking, or gambling.
  5. Cooking.
  6. Other behaviors in violation of public health, peacefulness, and safety or than damage or endanger the environment.
Ø Manufacturing, transporting, selling, or hiding any dangerous objects or drugs, including fuel, arsenic, thallium, MDMA/ecstasy, amphetamines, etc., are strictly prohibited.
 
Ø The master lights of the dormitory building will automatically shut off from 12:00 am (midnight) to 06:00 in the morning. Only desk lamps and electrical outlets on the table will be available during these hours.
 
Ø The use of electric appliances and power strips without permission is strictly prohibited. Only hair dryers, radios, electric insect zappers, and computers are permitted to be plugged in to wall outlets.
 
Ø The voltage of the air conditioner outlets is 220V. Do not plug any other electrical device or those outlets or the devices could burn out.
 
Ø Posters, announcements, and circulars can only be put on the specified bulletin boards by permission. Putting them into the mailboxes is prohibited.
 
Ø Bicycles and motorcycles should be parked in designated student parking lots. Do not park bicycles and motorcycles around the dormitory or in dorm rooms.
