Preparation and Precautions Before the Check-up
-
Avoid strenuous exercise and consuming large amounts of meat within 48 hours before the examination.
-
Since urine sugar, blood sugar, and blood lipids will be tested, you must fast for 6 hours before the blood test (no food except for a small amount of plain water).
However, please avoid prolonged fasting to prevent hypoglycemia. (Fasting time is 6 hours; please calculate based on your scheduled examination time. For those scheduled after noon, please have breakfast 6 hours before the test or eat something before bedtime the night before to avoid hypoglycemia due to excessive fasting. Please eat promptly after the examination.) -
Do not wear necklaces on the day of the examination, as they may interfere with X-ray results. Pregnant individuals should not undergo chest X-ray examinations—please inform the staff on-site, and the exam will be arranged after childbirth.
-
A urine test is required. If you cannot hold your urine, please inform the staff upon registration so that the urine test can be conducted first. If no urine sample is available, you may drink water after the blood test to increase urine volume. If you are on your menstrual period, please be sure to inform the urine test staff, as it may affect the test results.
-
Chest and abdominal examinations will be conducted by a physician through inquiry, stethoscope auscultation of the heart and lungs, and percussion/palpation if necessary. If you do not consent to this examination, please notify the staff at Paochien Hospital on-site. However, refunds are not available for group check-ups. Please note that the school’s health check-up does not involve urology examinations that may affect personal privacy.
-
The health examination report from Paochien Hospital will be reviewed by the Health Center and then distributed to students, who are responsible for passing it on to their parents. The report is the official original copy—please keep it safe during your studies. For future needs such as school transfer or part-time job applications, the school will not retain the original copy, and you will need to apply (with a fee) from Paochien Hospital.
-
If parents also require a copy of the health examination report, students must prepare a complete self-addressed stamped envelope when undergoing the examination at Paochien Hospital. After review, the Health Center will mail the report to the designated address.
-
Students with medical conditions, history of major surgery, or special illnesses should proactively inform the Health Center or complete the online health information form to facilitate follow-up and care.
